Jake plays Puck the mischievous fairy

Jasmine Titania, Queen of the fairies

Guten Tag from Hamburg in Germany! By the way, Guten Tag means hello in German. As you can see we are trying to learn a little bit of German whilst we are here. We would love to be able to speak more than one language and we wish we had paid more attention at school in our German lessons!

We are currently performing in A Midsummer Night's Dream with the Hamburg Ballet. A Midsummer Night's Dream was written by William Shakespeare, the same English author who wrote the play Romeo and Juliet. Both plays have been staged as ballets. We sent you a postcard in May from France when we were performing in Romeo and Juliet, do you remember? A Midsummer Night's Dream is a delightful tale of how fairies magically transform the fate of two young couples.

We have managed to take a few hours off in between rehearsing and performing to wander around this beautiful city. There are a lot of boats here in Hamburg because there is an enormous harbour and a lake called Alster Lake. We are hoping to have time to go to Berlin before leaving Germany.

Take care
